Candidates are examined in two sections:
a) Theoretical - written (9:30 am)
b) Practical on board (11.00 am).
In the theoretical examination, candidates are asked to respond in writing to 20 multiple-choice questions (triple choice). Those who respond correctly to at least 18 questions are attained.

In the practical examination, candidates are asked to perform (on the vessel they trained) Handling / port entry /port exit, Point approach with the bow, stern and sides of the boat.
In the shipwreck rescue and Avoiding an obstacle at sea.
At the same time, they are examined verbally for their knowledge of marine elements, IRPC and the use of life-saving and fire-fighting equipment.
