TRAINING PROGRAM

a) Theoretical

Candidates attend six hours of theoretical training on subjects

1. Basic Marine Knowledge

  • Concepts, definitions
  • Winds, sea condition
  • Departures, cruising, mooring
  • Arrived, board security
  • Call to help
  • Naval aids

2. Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge

  • Outboard, inboard and inboard outboard motors
  • Proper use and maintenance
  • Possible damages, restoration

3. Instructions and suggestions to owners and operators of high-speed boats.

  • Actions before sailing
  • Safe embarkation on small boats
  • Actions during sailing
  • Action on arrival
  • Boat maintenance in general
  • Basic actions at sea when unfavorable weather conditions prevail

4. Obligations of operators and owners of high-speed vessels. Penalties for offenders

5. Obligations of Jet-ski operators

6. IRPC (International Regulation Prevent Crashes).

7. Management and sailing rules

8. Lights and shapes

9. Sound and light signals

10. Supplies for amateur boats and Jet-ski

11. Recapitulation questions

b) Practical

Practical training is carried out with a boat with a YAMAHA 115 HP outboard engine.

Candidates are trained in six-hour lessons in handouts

Reading a nautical chart, finding a position, plotting a course and in handling,

  1. safe sailing
  2. Departure
  3. use of rescue tools and call for help
  4. arriving
  5. Attachment
  6. Parking with the stern side
  7. Parking with the side
  8. Anchoring
  9. avoiding an obstacle
  10. Shipwrecked rescue.

The training is a special lesson (one trainee per hour) and takes place in the Siggitikos Gulf or at Ierissos bay (depending on the weather conditions)
